Scarlett Summers has had a rough few months. She just got out of Meadowbrook mental hospital for a crime she had nothing to do with—her best friend Grace’s disappearance. No matter how hard she tries she can’t get that night out of her head, at least the parts she remembers. It gets worse, while she was away her mother moved in with her boyfriend and his son Skylar—whom Scarlett has never met. However, the real trouble begins when Skylar says he’s going to help her find Grace and she’s thrown into a world she didn’t even know existed.

This book sounded interesting to me, I didn't read the reviews before I downloaded it but I gave it a shot. This story definitely has potential but it was just so confusing. Nothing is explained, things are brought up then dropped, the main character doesn't keep asking for answers. There's just nothing to it, I kept reading it anyway but was left even more confused. For instance, Dante says Skylar was following him and started looking like him but Scarlett never asks who skylar is and it's never explained to the reader. I am assuming that grace thought she was sleeping with Dante but it was probably this Skylar that copied dantes looks? Scarlett doesn't even try to ask Dante if it was him and he never offers it up. We just don't get any information or depth. I don't think I'll try any more books in this series, it was just too confusingProduct details

This was a good short story but wouldn't pay for it since its way too short. Would like to read the rest. Maybe if they put them all as one book
It had a creative story line. But at many times the word choices and, for lack of better phrasing, "simplified" language would distract from the plot.
I have to admit it's hard for me to not finish a book when I start one. So I finished this one. Not sure if I will finish the series tho. The story seemed all over the place, confusing trying to keep up with all the sudden changes in events.
I don't think the story deserves a 5* but it really doesn't deserve a 1* either. The plot itself was fine. The delivery was a bit all over the place.
When I first read this book I thought It wasn't going to be great. But there was a lot of surprises and I started to love this book. I would've loved if it was longer but other wise it was really good.
Characters not very fleshed out leaving the reader a little confused.
Not finishing or wrapping up a story line ( boyfriend and best friend sleeping together) that doesn't seem to be continued in the next installment. Just introduced it then just dropped it.
Maybe the next installment will save it.
Was a great quick read and it had me hooked right from the beginning. I can't find the second book tho.
Confusing in the beginning, but got better as it went along. Definitely other worldly and sometimes funny. This book is a mind escape, a travel into another realm.
